The Caregiver Support Program Occupational Therapist (CSP-OT) position requires knowledge and understanding of not only the services and benefits available for caregivers from both federal, state and private sector resources but the statute, regulations, and policy that govern the program. The CSP-OT must be sensitive to the issues and needs of Veterans and their families. The CSP-OT performs a wide range of services, collaborating with interdisciplinary members to gather medical information to send to the VISN CET. The information will be used by the VISN CET to make eligibility determinations, tier level determinations, discharges, and appeals for the PCAFC. Uses sound judgment in the interpretation of trends and patterns; application of regulation, policy, guidelines; and the recommendation of program enhancements. Executes clinical position responsibilities that demonstrates leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex patient level of care determinations:
(1) Works with interdisciplinary team members at VISN and facility levels to ensure coordinated and directed eligibility determinations for the PCAFC. (2) Conducts comprehensive clinical review of patient records to identify the presence of Veteran need for assistance with personal care services and/or supervision or protection needs daily. (3) Maintains understanding of eligibility associated with service connection and conducts review of eligibility documents, as needed, to determine service-connected condition meets eligibility requirement. (4) Analyzes data obtained in record review. (5) Documents information utilized in assessment tools. (6) Collaborates with and contributes knowledge to a community of practice across VISN's and Regions with CSC's and CET members. (7) Assists the Medical Center with MISSION Act implementation, as it relates to CSP and PCAFC expansion. (8) Executes position responsibilities that demonstrates leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex patient care. (9) Provides professional oversight and consultation for occupational therapist involved in caregiver programs, monitors and evaluates clinically appropriate. (10) May independently conduct in-home assessments for Caregiver and Veteran. Work Schedule:

Experience:
Completes complex and varied evaluations serving as the subject matter expert and as a consultant and treating therapist of patients in the extended rehabilitation. Serves as a subject matter expert in the field of occupational therapy in serving Adult to Geriatric aged patients. Has extensive knowledge in providing recommendations for adaptive equipment/strategies in serving patients with multiple co-morbidities. Grade Determinations:
In addition to the basic requirements for employment, the following criteria must be met when determining the grade of candidates:
Occupational Therapist, GS-12:
Education, Experience, and Licensure. Completion of one year of experience equivalent to at the GS-11 grade level and directly related to the position being filled. Demonstrated KSAs. In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all the following KSAs:
Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and techniques consistent with current clinical standards based on OT theory and evidence-based practice. Knowledge is inclusive of physical, occupational, cognitive, and psychosocial functional deficits. Ability to collaborate and communicate orally and in writing with all internal and external stakeholders. Ability to use critical analysis, clinical reasoning, and creativity to independently solve complex problems related to adapting and modifying assessments, treatment plans, activities and procedures to meet the needs of patients. Skill in procuring, fabricating, adjusting, adapting, and modifying orthoses, splints, and adaptive equipment for activities of daily living (inclusive of durable medical equipment). Ability to conduct OT related in-service and clinical training. References:

Ability to lift, push, or pull 20-50 pound; extended times of sitting, standing, walking, working close to others as well as times of working alone.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
