Registered Nurse (Nurse Manager)

The Nurse Manager, Caregiver Support, assumes responsibility for staffing and scheduling of permanent and supplemental nursing staff, and ensures that assignments of staff reflect their appropriate utilization, compliance with staff guidelines and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards. Duties include but not limited to:
Planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting priorities and preparing schedules for completion of work. Assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and the requirements of the assignments, and the capabilities of subordinates. Evaluating the performance of subordinates. Making recommendations for appointments, advancements or reassignments of subordinates. Responsible for time scheduling of the unit, coaches staff, deals with employee conduct and performance issues, completes recurring reports and performance evaluations in a timely manner. Participating in service and medical center committees and task forces to improve nursing practice and patient care. Accountable for the administration and management of nursing personnel and provision of nursing services for Veterans in accordance with applicable VHA Directives and ANCC overall standards of nursing care and practice. Participating in the development and full implementation of approved policies and procedures; developing and implementing ongoing evaluation of nursing practice; completing required nursing reports; collaborating with members of the team to assure the criteria are followed. Works collaboratively to ensure staff develop, documented and implement plans for each Veteran and required medical record documentation is noted by staff in accordance with VHA, JCAHO, CARF regulatory and accreditation guidelines. required to conduct assessments (independently) in the Veteran/Caregiver home Preferred

Applicants must be a graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant. NOTE:

The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in an MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. In these programs, students are given a certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX and should submit this certification to VA prior to appointment. Students do not earn a BSN but receive an MSN degree upon completion of course work. A copy of the MSN transcript must be provided to VA. Bridge programs that confer a master's degree also fully meet the education requirement, even though a bachelor's degree is not awarded. EXCEPTION (c):
In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active, and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. Registration:
Must possess a current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. English Language Proficiency:
Must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d). Grade Determinations:
The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignmentof candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a relatedfield with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience. This position requires visual acuity, keen heating, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. This position requires potential periods of continued walking, standing, sitting, and lifting. The incumbent must be a mature, flexible, sensible individual capable of working effectively in stressful situations and able to shift priorities based on needs. Must complete annual Employee Health requirements, such as annual TB screening or testing, as a condition of employment. The incumbent may occasionally be exposed to patients who are combative secondary, but limited to psychiatric or delirium disorders.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
