SUPERVISORY MEDICAL SUPPORT AS

The Spv. MSA is the supervisor directing the work or at least 12, and up to 16. Medical Support Assistants (GS-679-6) as well as the Lead MSAs (GS-7 Leads). This individual will provide direct supervision to all MSA's in the CITC program. The Supervisory MSA duties also include, but are not limited to:
Plans training programs for employees, interviews in the selection of new employees and recommends promotion of employees. Appraises and analyzes the employees required to reduce costs and assures effective performance of employees. Ensure equal treatment of all employees. Conducts data validation reviews to ensure all workload is captured. Coordinates work assignments, training needs and schedules/cross coverage. Resolves informal complaints or grievances from internal and external customers. Support and enforce Veterans' Administration directives and regulations. Ensure local and network policies and procedures are in place. Trouble shooting complaints via telephone, email and/or United States mail Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:
00am to 4:

Experience:
Effective demonstration of scheduling patient appointments using electronic scheduling software, accessing electronic medical records, and managing call operators on an automated call distribution system. Grade Determinations:
Supervisory Medical Support Assistant, GS-8 Experience. One year of experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level leading or supervising MSAs or equivalent administrative patient support staff in a non-VA medical inpatient, outpatient, or interdisciplinary setting. AND Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. In addition to the Experience above, candidates must demonstrate all of the KSAs below:
Ability to provide the full range of administrative and supervisory duties to at least one subordinate MSA supervisor or team leader in a patient support setting which includes assignment of work, performance evaluations, selection of staff, and recommendation of awards and/or advancements. Ability to collaborate, communicate, and demonstrate customer service and interpersonal skills with internal and external customers to ensure quality/continuity of care and ensure compliance with established policies and regulations. Ability to provide briefings, orientations, staff development, and training in a patient support setting . Ability to manage fiscal matters, forecast resource and equipment needs, and identify budget needs. Advanced knowledge of managing or leading patient support staff in a clinic. This includes independently utilizing reference sources, decision making, and empowering the team to collaborate and resolve problems within a complex systems environment. References:

Position is primarily sedentary in nature. May require moderate lifting, some walking, standing, bending and carrying of light items as needed. May work alone or with closely with others in an office setting.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
