Registered Nurse -Clinical Training Specialist

Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS) is a Level 1c interdisciplinary facility with service-lines serving medical, surgical, geriatrics, rehabilitation, specialty and general outpatient services, and multiple community based outpatient clinics (CBOC). There is an expanded inpatient and outpatient psychiatric population. Home Based Primary Care is provided in the veteran's home. Assigned Duties include but are not limited to:
Coordinates/manages facility policy and guidance for the structure and conduct of the Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior (PMDB) program in compliance National po cy and guidelines. Collaborate with leadership to ensure facility policies are compliant with TJC and OSHA requirements regarding workplace violence prevention training. Knowledge in VA, The Joint Commission (TJC), OSHA and other guidelines associated with education and training in workplace violence prevention. Plans, develops, implements, directs, and coordinates overall training at the facility level with fidelity to the national model. Directs the implementation and ongoing evaluation of any impact evaluation tool related to PMDB training. Maintains an active certification as a PMDB Facility Trainer and PMDB Master Trainer so they can certify both Facility trainers and Master Trainers. Directs a diverse staff of employees to accomplish the work of the PMDB Program. Responsible for independently managing work assignments and review. Identification and selection of employees qualified to become PMDB Facility Trainers. Ensuring that PMDB Facility Trainers are initially certified by completing a Train-The-Trainer (TTT) course and then recertified via the annual PMDB Trainer Recalibration Conference or a Facility Trainer Recertification Assessment (FTRA) every 4 years. Provides training and update training to maintain an adequate number of trainers for the number of employees in the facility who need training. Coordinating assignment of PMDB Facility Trainers to Level 11, 111, and IV classes. Identification of PMDB Facility Trainers qualified to become Master Trainers and retention of enough Master Trainers to minimize costs of developing new Facility Trainers via Train-The-Trainer (TTT) courses. Regular communication with the PMDB Facility Trainers to provide updated information and address concerns and issues via a monthly or quarterly planned conference. Documenting and tracking which levels each PMDB Facility Trainer is certified to teach to ensure they teach a enough classes in that level each year to maintain training skills. Ensure facility Master Trainers perform their minimum two m courses per year and recalibration every two years. Performs the administrative and personnel management functions related to staff assigned to PMDB within each individual workplace in the facility. Upholds national guidelines in training and biennial assessment of staff, and clearly communicates staff performance to the supervisor of record. Ensure consistent, timely training for identified employees. Coordinate assignment of Level I PMDB training to all employees within 90 days of hire and additional levels of training to employees based on the Workplace Behavioral Risk Assessment. Track training assignments and completions for the facility. Ensuring employees assigned to Levels II, Ill, and IV have sufficient methods, times, and opportunities to complete biennial skills assessments lo determine if retraining is needed. Ensuring that employee training plans track biennial skills assessments and retraining if needed. Participation in the Disruptive Behavior Committee and the Workplace Behavioral Risk Assessment team. Establishes continuity between PMDB and Disruptive Behavior Committee. Participation in the analysis of disruptive and violent incidents, including analysis to identify why the incidents occurred and how to prevent them in the future. Advocates at all levels of leadership to elicit support for workplace violence prevention efforts. Participation in national PMDB conference calls and trainings pertinent to the coordination of the program. Work Schedule:

Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant:
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. (Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6) OR In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Grade Determinations:
The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience. The physical requirements of this position include lifting, prolonged standing and sitting, frequent bending, walking (distance), climbing, reaching (overhead, extensive/repetitive), pulling, pushing, repetitive motion and stooping. The mental/sensory requirements include recall, reasoning, problem-solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing legibly, keyboarding, reading and logical thinking, depth perception, hearing (aide permitted); near/far vision correctable to meet Driver's License requirements. The environment's pace can vary from steady to a sometimes-fast pace requiring handling of multiple priorities, frequent, sometimes intense customer interactions, and the ability to adapt to frequent changes in a sometimes-noisy environment. There may be the need to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to disease, illness and hazardous materials.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
